    An amazing and unique piece, this large Yad is made of delicate filigree work throughout and set with four Garnets. Forty-four years ago, from a small room in Jerusalem, Saadia Nadav began to design and produce silver Judaica, based on the tradition of Yemenite silversmith. Today, the third generation of the Nadav family continues the tradition with an uncompromising commitment to design and workmanship. ~ Made of sterling silver. ~ This Yad is 10.5” long and weights 4 oz. /113 g. ~ Hand made in Israel.

Here is your chance to buy at a clearance price authentic designer 'Large Filigree Yad':
    Since it is forbidden to touch the Torah Scrolls with your hand, you follow the text with a pointer, called a Yad. "Yad" means "hand" in Hebrew, and the pointer usually is in the shape of a hand with a pointing index finger. Since the Bar Mitzvah is the first time a boy stands in front of the Torah it is very appropriate to give a “Yad” as a meaningful Bar Mitzvah gift that will have a special place in a man’s life forever.

    This piece has been crafted by Ben-Zion David, an Israeli artist from an eight-generation Yemenite family of silversmiths. The intricate filigree work is characteristic of the authentic ancient designs the Yemenite family brought with them when emigrating from Yemen to Israel. This Yad has two sections of filigree, one in the center and one at the end, reminiscent of a crown and set with six garnets.

    ~ This Yad measures 9 ½” long, weights 2 oz./57g.

    ~ Made of oxidized sterling silver, occasional polishing may be needed to keep tarnish off. Set with six Garnets.
